Kevin Lynn

Engineering Manager

 

Kevin has been with us since Sept 2001, moving from a 10 year engineering design and management role.  Heading up the Engineering Department, which is spilt into Research and Applications Design, he is a highly experienced and versatile engineer with a proven track record in New Product design and manufacture across several market sectors.  Kevin has a B.Eng. (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering and lectured in 3D computer aided design for several years.

Joining us in March 2006, David has extensive experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in various industries including Automotive and general Industry.  He has a BSc in Mechancical Engineering and is a corporate member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Colin joined us in November 2007, with a background of new product introduction in automotive and aerospace thermal product.  He holds a B.Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, a corporate member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and is named on several patents.

Craig joined our team in June 2005.  He has a BTEC - ONC Level 2 in Mathematics, Engineering Applications of Computers, Industry & Society, and Electronics et al.  Craig is experienced in Auto Desk - Auto CAD-3D Design, R13 Solid Modelling and "Solid Works", AutoSM and Mechanical Desktop 2 & 5.  Craig has a work history in Mechanical Engineering as a Draughtsman and extensive experience on introducing projects into production manufacturing.

PhD, BEng (Hons), AMIMechE.  Ryan joined the company in October 2002 and is an applications research engineer Ryan McGlen, Applications Research Engineer, Thermacore Europeworking on thermal & mechanical design and R&D.  His current role is divided between developing custom thermal solutions for the cooling of electronic systems for the medical, military and telecom markets and research and development into next generation thermal technologies.  He has been involved as both engineer and project manager on several major research projects and has project managed multiple commercial projects.  In 2007 he completed a PhD investigating Two-Phase Loop Thermosyphon and microchannel liquid cold plates for cooling of microprocessors.

David came to train with us first as an Apprentice Design Engineer in January 2004.  David has now completed 2 years in ONC-Mechanical Engineering and 2 years in HNC Mechanical Engineering.  David is currently working towards B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering.

 

Andreas joined us in October 2005, He has an MEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering also a Dipl-Ing (FH) in European Mechanical Engineering.  At the moment Andreas is working towards his PhD in Effects of Bending and Flattening of Heat pipes.

Elvedin joined us in May 2007.  He majored in Thermodynamic and Fluid Dynamics at University of Banjaluka in Bosnia and received a BS/BA.  He has completed an MPhil in Examination of Alternative Refrigerant in a Vapour Compression System at Newcastle University, England.  He is also a co-author of a publication relating to his project.  At the moment Elvedin is working towards his PhD in Micro-Channel Liquid Cooling Module.

 

Benjamin joined us for a summer placement in 2007 which led into part time employment throughout his final year.  During this time, he completed his dissertation on Thermal Interface Material tester design. Upon completing his BEng (Hons) from Newcastle University, he was appointed to a full time role in the Engineering department and currently works on customer projects.

Research Engineer (PhD Student) Apprentice Design Engineer  

Xiao joined Thermacore in January 2008.  She is currently investigating and developing magnesium alloy heat pipes as part of her PhD research with the University of Nottingham.  She also has involvement with heat pipes and product testing and CFD simulation projects.  Xiao holds a BEng from Beijing Union University, China, and MSc from the University of Nottingham, UK.

Darren started with Thermacore in September 2008.  He is currently studying towards his BTEC Mechanical Engineering and PEO's at South Tyneside College. As an apprentice, he works on various projects several days a week.
